OH credits John Blair with Thistle's second and this is backed up by the DR which states “a breakaway saw Blair secure the points for Firhill with a shot that glanced off a Falkirk player into the net”. GH/DC/JL say Willie Hamilton, with the Courier report specifically stating “fifteen minutes from time Hamilton scored off a corner by Blair.” Quite apart from the scorers being different, the Record and Courier scribes don't even sound like they're describing the same goal! The FH carries a very detailed account of the match and re-affirms that Thistle's goal was the result of a corner, and that Hamilton struck the deciding shot, albeit that it took a deflection on the way in. We go with Hamilton per the majority view.

Falkirk blasted a pen over the bar nearing half-time but took a deserved lead with a glancing header soon afterwards. Kinloch equalised following a corner (52) but Falkirk hit back and bombarded the Thistle goal until Hamilton shocked them by scoring from a Blair corner (75) to give them a scarcely deserved win.
