Thistle “will require to show substantial improvement if they are to prevail” (GH). Thistle started off at a fast pace against the Central League team. Blair and Kinloch were prominent early on but eventually the home team got into the game. Kinloch scored (25) from a cute pass by McMenemy. The home team were reduced to 9 men when 2 players were carried off. Kinloch scored his 2nd while they were receiving treatment. One of the players did return and Shire were rewarded with a goal their play deserved in the last minute following a mistake by Crichton. A rather fortunate win for Thistle under the circumstances.
