“There was excitement in plenty and right through it was a good contest” (SC). Attack and counter attack were the order of the day but, again, defences were on top. “By contrast with the 2nd half, the 1st half was a colourless affair” (GH). Neither set of forwards showed up well. Hibs had fewer chances but looked the more likely to score. The 2nd half was fast and exciting and Campbell was busy early on. Eventually however most of the action was at the other end and the Hibs keeper had fine saves from Bowie, McMenemy and Salisbury. Unchanged Thistle probably had the edge but Hibs deserved another replay on account of their defensive performance. This was Thistle's 6th consecutive game without scoring a goal.
