Another tight game at Ayr and a lucky win. Ayr had most of the play but none of the luck. The only goal was scored by Lauder on a breakaway (75) after Marshall had made the opening. With the wind Ayr virtually camped in Thistle's half after half-time but “Stewart gave a great display of goalkeeping” (SC).
