A low, hard McMullan free-kick and a goal by Whittle (possibly off-side) made it 2-0. A header from a corner just after half-time reduced the lead but Thistle had the best of things with the “forwards forcing the game in dashing style” (SC). Future-JAG Bernard had a fine game in the Airdrie goal.
