Thistle made a good start and Whittle hit the post but Airdrie led 1-0 at half-time. 3 goals in seven minutes livened up the match. Airdrie went 2-up then their keeper carried the ball beyond the 18-yard line and Whittle scored with the free-kick but a few minutes later it was 3-1. Thistle pressed to no avail. Down to 11th.
