5th v 6th was a goalless stalemate. After an early scare when Ayr hit the post, defences were always on top and all too often encouraging leading up play was wasted in front of goal. Ayr might have pinched it late on but the defence saw the game out. Equally, Whittle wasted the best chance of the match.
