OH/DR go with Willie Gardiner for Thistle's second, whilst JL and GH say James Hynd. SC has no scorers. There's a concern over Gardner in that the GH don't have him in the line-up, saying that James Hynd was the man. Lo and behold, the one line-up change between the OH/GH is also the one goal difference, the GH saying it was Hynd whilst the OH/DR says it was Gardner. Weighing it all up, we've came down on the side of the OH/DR account (the Record report is quite full and lists Gardner at no.7), and credit Willie Gardiner. We don't list James Hynd as playing, never mind scoring.

The good run continued. Early chances were from long distance but nearing half-time Harris (N) and Hynd (suspicion of off-side) put them 2-up. There were chances at both ends in the second half then, despite tiring badly on the heavy pitch, Rovers scored a well crafted goal. It was “keen and interesting” (DR).
