In the end it was a comfortable win and a valuable 2 points. Hamilton gave Thistle the lead in the first half after a long spell of fruitless possession but it didn't last long. 1-1 at half-time. A well placed cross by Branscombe set up Gardiner in the second half and Thistle dominated after that without adding to the score.
