Morton took an early lead against the run of play but King and Steel put Thistle ahead by half-time. Goals by Lowry and Steel gave Thistle a commanding 4-1 lead but a spirited fight-back gave them a fright as Morton pulled back a couple of goals but Branscombe scored from the penalty spot late on.
