Thistle had a good half-hour but Steel, Gettins and Gardiner all wasted good chances. Towards half-time St Mirren saw more of the play and they hit the post. In the second half they adapted better to the sodden conditions and took a 2-goal lead before Branscombe pulled one back (85) but it was too little too late.
