Only 1,000 saw a dreadful start to the new, but short-lived, Midweek League. Thistle had a number of reserves and a “Newman“ playing. They were never in the game, trailed 3-0 at half-time and 4-0 before McIntyre scored but even with 10 men in the second half Clyde were never troubled and scored 2 more.
