  • OH credits OG for the first Thistle (by process of elimination), and this is supported by the DR who who say that “between Mainds, Orr & Thomson there was a bit of a mix up.” The SC report contradicts and states that it was William Allan, with not even the mention of a deflection. (“Allan sent the ball past Brownlie after Raisbeck made the opening”). The DC concurs: “Allan had the first and King the second, both good shots, but in neither case should Brownlie have failed to save.” The newspaper network seems to have accepted William Allan also, with LOES/LEIM/LDP all siding with Allan. We'll probably never know, but go with Allan per the majority view.
