It was only after Cowdenbeath scored that the game livened up. Thistle trailed at half-time but soon after the restart Gardiner scored from a difficult angle. Cowdenbeath lost a player to a bad cut and a sub was allowed. Thistle always looked the better team, but it didn't count. Raisbeck's play was “greatly admired” (SR).
