Benefit match for goalkeeper Willie Howden. The game took ages to warm up but never reached any great standard. Towards the end of the first half Gardiner scored after a defensive error. In the second half Celtic scored with a fine solo effort also after a defensive error. Thistle had 3 guests playing.
