Airdrie had the wind in the first half and the best of the play. After Kennedy had hit the bar, Airdrie got the only goal from a free-kick. McGregor fired a pen wide before half-time. With the wind, Thistle were better in outfield play but weak finishing let them down. Airdrie finished the better team but couldn't find a second goal.
