The score did not do Queens' superiority justice. Thanks to Howden they only led 1-0 at half-time. At 2-0 Thistle pulled one back through Lyon (largely because Queens slackened off) but they made it 3-1 before Wilkie scored. Howden in goal was outstanding. “His saving at times was brilliant” (GH).
