Falkirk soon snuffed out Thistle's attacks and their keeper didn't touch the ball for half an hour. Howden had some fine saves then play swung towards the Falkirk end. Kennedy scored 3 minutes after half-time with a cross from the right but Falkirk equalised 2 minutes later in a goalmouth scramble and finished the better team.
