Played in aid of Masonic Lodge funds. Thistle (with 2 “guest“ players) forced the pace from the start and McGregor shot straight into the keeper's arms. The forwards were poor despite the bulk of possession. Port seldom threatened and held out until Shand scored the only goal near the end.

Played last night at Meadowside in aid of Lodge St Vincenct Masonic Bazaar Fund. The Thistle forced matters at the start, and McGregor shot with terrific force into Ward’s hands. This early the home team assumed the upper hand but slackness in front of goal was the failing of the Thistle forwards. Occasionally the visitors broke away, but the Partick defence invariably held them safe, until near the interval, when Hamilton broke through and tested Howden. At half-time there was no scoring. In the second half the Thistle kept up the aggressive work, but the Port backs, acting in splendid unison with their goalkeeper, defied all their attempts to score until near the end, when Shand notched the only goal of the match. Result:– Partick Thistle, 1; Port Glasgow, 0.
