After a bright start by Port, Thistle settled and took a 2-goal lead through Massie and Reid. Port scored but a 3rd goal by McGinley just on half-time gave Thistle a comfortable lead -or so it seemed. The second half was “keenly contested” (GH) and thanks to “their well-known stamina” (AN), Port won handsomely.
