The OH (by process of elimination) credits Walter Fairgrieve with Thistle's third, and this is backed up by the DR. GH reckons it was a second goal for Tom Hyslop, whilst JL/SR give the nod to James Henderson. It's a lot of conflict, and we think it best to stick with Fairgrieve per the OH position.

In beautiful weather and with 8 new signings, Thistle took the lead through Gibbons then just on half-time Hyslop made it 2-0. Celtic hit back with two goals then a 3rd came when the unsighted Wilkie made no attempt to save. 2 minutes later Fairgrieve levelled. Encouraging start to the new season.
