Killie were first to show and had an early goal disallowed (off-side). They went ahead then Thistle almost levelled but soon it was 2-0. Just after half-time McNicoll scored but so did Killie (twice) before McNicoll reduced the lead. There was little between the teams but Killie offered more up front.
