Paul beat 2 defenders to finish off an excellent individual effort (15). Ayr equalised just on h-t. Against the wind they were seldom seen in Thistle's half but they defended stoutly. Eventually goals by McDonald, McDougal and Freebairn earned the points. Thistle's keeper McDonald will have admired his brother's keeping for Ayr.
