With wind, sun and better football all in their favour, a goal by Proudfoot gave Thistle a half-time lead. Eventually Leith began to take control however and McDonald made no attempt to save a free-kick, thinking it was indirect. “A swift, low shot” (SC) left him helpless and won both points.
