It was mainly Airdrie in the first half but the Thistle defence stood firm and it was goalless at half-time. Paul opened the scoring (50) set up by Lawson. Thistle adopted off-side tactics to the annoyance of the crowd then (ironically) Ferguson scored while clearly off-side. Airdrie scored and should have levelled late on.
