In glorious weather the teams were evenly matched in the first half. Thistle led 1-0 then 2-1 at half-time thanks to goals by Proudfoot and Fraser. The second half superiority of Thistle was a surprise to everyone and they were dominant, despite some fine saves by the visiting keeper.
