Both the OH/JL credit William Lawson with a goal at the expense of Willie Paul. JL specifically credits Lawson with the opener (a penalty). Thistle led 2-0 thanks to a Paul penalty (twice taken because of encroachment) and Proudfoot (J) before Morton reduced the deficit on the stroke of half-time. In the second half Paul made it 3 then towards the end Proudfoot got his 2nd goal for a good win against bottom of the table Morton.
