notes
  • Almost all of our quoted scorers come from the detailed account in the MT, albeit they list Thistle's third as a “scrimmage” (no mention of an o.g.) and do not name a scorer for Motherwell's third. We fill in the David Harding o.g. (for Thistle's 3rd) and Edward Goldie (for Motherwell's 3rd) via JL. Further, JL credits John Wilkie (with a double) and Willie Paul (with a single) at the expense of one goal apiece for Willie Freebairn (credited with a double in the MT) and John Proudfoot (actually the only scorer mentioned in the OH). We stick with the MT/OH account for both of these goals.
