Strangely, and somewhat annoyingly, the SR has a few differences to the HH in terms of scorers and sequence, reckoning that it was Willie Freebairn who scored the games' opening goal and that Dykehead equalized for a 1-1 HT scoreline. Both papers agree that Thistle fought back from 2-4 down in the second half. The supplier of our teamlines (HH) has the better report, and we stick with them in terms of both the sequence and that the scorer of Thistle's first was John Wilkie.

This exciting match saw chances at both end before Dykehead went ahead. Wilkie levelled however then Thistle's tough play was ignored by the ref. They were soon behind but they capitalised on poor defending for 2-2 by half-time. 2 more goals saw Dykehead get complacent and Thistle fought back to salvage a draw.
