Cappielow. Thistle won the toss and decided to face the wind in the first half but they could make no progress and goals 11, 30 and 34 made it 3-0 at half-time. It was better with the wind in the second half and Cleland and Smith scored but that was as close as Thistle got to reaching the final.

Thistle won the toss and elected to play against the strong wind. Eleven minutes from the start Berry scored the first goal. Excellent passing between the Queen’s Park man with Anderson and Dunsmore secured a second goal half an hour from the start. Four minutes later Dunlop put Battlefield three up. Partick Thistle had decided hard luck at goal. At times the wind foiled their best efforts to score. The first half ended- Battlefield, 3 goals; Partick Thistle, 0. The Thistle’s display in the second half showed much better combination, and, after a stubborn defence by the Battlefield, Cleland and Smith were instrumental in putting on a goal each. During the last quarter of an hour the Thistle strove hard to equalise but were unsuccessful. The game ended- Battlefield, 3 goals; Partick Thistle, 2 goals.
