Cappielow. Johnstone put up a brave performance and were unlucky in front of goal but were eventually outclassed. There was some entertaining play on offer however. Paul got the scoring started (10) and it was 2-0 at half-time. Both teams had “assistance of one or two players from other clubs” (GT).

At Cappielow Park, Greenock, last night these teams encountered each other in the first round of the Greenock Charity Cup competition. The weather was dull and threatening, but notwithstanding that, the match was productive of some good football. The Glasgow team eventually won by 6 to 1, but the losers really played well, though they were unfortunate at goal.
