Another bad day at the office in the capital. Hibs scored 3 in either half. Towards the end “the Thistle forwards dribbled quietly up” (SC) and Murray got the consolation goal. “The Hibernians were…in every department superior to their opponents” (EEN).

Two more points in the League competition were gained by the Hibernians, who completely overcame Partick Thistle, defeating them by six goals to one. After the first few minutes of the game the Hibernians assumed the upper hand of the play, and although the Thistle rather unexpectedly scored a goal close on the finish of the game, the Hibernians position as practically masters of the situation was never seriously challenged. The Hibernians played in a dashing style, and were in every department superior to their opponents. Among the Partick forward players there were some exceedingly anxious to improve matters from their point of view, but in the Hibernian back division they met more than their match, and the attack was as a rule broken and dispersed before ever Donnelly was reached.
