Both teams had spells of pressure and the visitors scored (10) but Galloway equalised soon after and Thistle then went ahead through a fine Harvey free-kick. They had the better of the play in the second half and Galloway and Freebairn (2) scored before 2 late goals took the shine off the win.

Second Division League match at Whiteinch. Paul started the match and the Partick men at once came away in a body. A strong attempt was made to lower Duff’s charge. This, however, was not accomplished, although two corners were conceded. Play was fast and ranged from goal to goal. From a smart passing run Lynch scored first for Cowlairs after 10 minutes play. Galloway, accepting a pass from W. Freebairn, succeeded in equalising. From a free kick Harvie sent in a fine shot which took effect, and the Thistle stood two up. Half-time:- Partick Thistle, 2 goals; Cowlairs, 1. The second half was well contested, mainly in favour of the Thistle.
