Second division League match at Cowlairs. The home team kicked off and from the start it was evident it would be a hard one. The Partick men worked hard and had one or two tries before Cowlairs even got a look in. Freebairn and Finlay on the visitors right were in fine form, and brought the ball well up the field, when it was shot through, but the goal was disallowed for charging the goalkeeper, who was sent through before the ball. Play was now transferred to the east goal, where Lynch succeeded in beating Crozier. A foul in Partick territory gave the home men a chance, but the ball was well caught and returned. Keeping up the pressure, Cowlairs secured a second goal, Watson tipping the ball through in a scrimmage. The ball was scarcely kicked off again when the visitors made a rush and Finlay took Duff by surprise. At half-time the score was:- Cowlairs, 2; Partick Thistle, 1. With a very short interval, a restart was made, and Cowlairs again pressed. In the first attempt, Crozier fisted the ball over the bar, but a second from Scott took effect. Settling round the strangers, two more points were snatched by Edgar and Scott respectively. A fast and pleasant game ended in favour of the ground team, the final result being- Cowlairs, 8 goals; Partick Thistle, 1 goal.
