Linthouse opened the scoring with a soft goal and scored again (20, defensive misunderstanding) but Gilchrist reduced the lead (25, “Freebairn attending to the goalkeeper“ (GEP)). With the wind, the second half was all Thistle. Freebairn (47 and 48), Robertson (“a scorcher“, 65), Gilchrist, Harvey and Murray all scored.

At Whiteinch. Partick, in presence of an immense crowd. The home team had the wind against them the first half. A few minutes after the start Linthouse scored a soft goal. Some give and take play followed. Paul had now a good run, but the ball was shot high. Linthouse again registered. Gilschrist scored the first for the Thistle. Half-time:- Linthouse, two goals; Partick thistle, one goal. On changing ends the Thistle now had the advantage of the wind, and with a long shot Freebairn equalised amid cheers. Two minutes later the same player added another point. Linthouse for some time experienced hard lines. The home team kept up the pressure. Towards the close the ground became very soft, falls being the order of the day. Thistle scored in quick succession. Final result:- Thistle, seven goals; Linthouse, two goals.
