The home team, having failed to take any of their chances, finally scored approaching half-time. Rodger (right-back) missed the second half through injury but strangely the 10 men played better and Paul equalised (scrimmage, 55). A tight finish saw the home team score “with a stinging shot” (GH). Unlucky on the day.

Played at Braehead. With a slight wind at their backs, the Thistle kicked off, and were soon surrounding Crozier’s charge, where he had some hot shots to save. Towards the close of the first half the Thistle pulled themselves together a bit, and playing better they got down on Crozier, and a goal was scored from a scrimmage. Half-time score:- Thistle, 1; Partick Thistle, 0. The Partick team had to resume without Rodger, who received a bad kick in the first half. The ground team were the first to assert themselves and Crozier had his work cut out for him, staving off the repeated attacks of the forwards who were shooting with more vigour than in the first half. Freebairn was working very hard and from one of his passes the Partick team equalised ten minutes from the start. The game now became more interesting, and the play travelled fast from end to end, both teams putting in a lot of work. After repeated tries at goal, the Thistle again beat Crozier with a stinging shot from Clarkie. Result:- Thistle, 2 goals; Partick Thistle, 1 goal.
