Thistle had a goal chalked off for off-side before Abercorn scored. In the second half Crozier was a busy keeper but performed well. Eventually however it was 2-0 and then 3 just on the final whistle. Thistle “would have got at least two goals by a little more headwork. The forwards were a trifle disjointed“ (GEP).

Played at Inchview Park, Whiteinch. The Abercorn kicked off and for a time play was confined to mid-field. The Thistle were first to get away, but a claim for off-side spoiled their score. A few minutes later the Abercorn forwards put in a good run, from which McLardie scored their first goal. Play now became very fast, each goal being visited in turn, but neither side could find an opening. Half-time result:- Abercorn, 1 goal; Partick Thistle, 0 goals. On resuming, the Abercorn gave Crozier some sharp work, which he performed well. Then the Thistle, led on by Paul, had a look in, but McCann was all there. Another run by the Abercorn forwards ended by McLardie, putting on their second goal. Just before the close, Barr scored a third goal for the Abercorn. Final result:- Abercorn, 3 goals, Partick Thistle, 0 goals.
