Thistle's first ever SFL match (New Div 2 created). After a close shave (1), Thistle went 2-up in 10 minutes, Paul getting both. Crozier had a fine save and it was 3-0 at half-time thanks to Robertson (H). Morton improved but could only score twice - Crozier outstanding as Morton pressed.

At Greenock (League match, second division) in warm weather. There was not a large attendance. Morton kicked off. In the first minute the Thistle goal had several narrow shaves, and going away afterwards, the visitors beat the home defence and scored easily. Paul added a second goal ten minutes after the start. The Morton pulled themselves together and off a corner nearly scored, Crozier saving with difficulty. Play was pretty even. The Thistle had numerous tries for goal, and near half-time McKenna was again defeated. Half-time result:- Partick Thistle, 3 goals, Morton, 0. The second half showed Morton in better form, but they were unable to beat Crozier oftener than twice and were thus defeated by 3 goals to 2.
