Thistle (Partick) scored in 2 minutes through Hislop. “The Partick men were playing with great dash” (GH). The match was keenly contested with a few close things at either end. It was 2-0 a min after half-time (Gilchrist) and further goals from Currie and Gilchrist put the result beyond doubt.

Return Alliance fixture played at Inchview Park, Whiteinch. The Braehead club were without Gemmell, McPherson and Allan. At the start, there was a fair turnout of spectators. White started the game for the ground team, who at once bore down on their opponents. After two minutes play, Hislop scored for the Partick men. Mackie and Cunningham then transferred play to the other end, but only a fruitless corner resulted. The Partick men were playing with great dash and for a time kept the defence very busy. Russell latterly brought relief and the game opened up. The Braehead men, however, could make very little impression on the home defence, with the result that they were soon back on their own goal. Currie gave Stewart a chance but the latter shot over. A foul in front of goal followed but this was not improved upon.

The Partick men were, at this time, experiencing very hard lines as they kept up the attack. Mackie broke away and forced a corner, but nothing came of it. A capital attack by the Glasgow men followed, but a foul occurring enabled the home team to clear their lines. Shortly before the finish of the first half, the Partick men returned aggressive tactics, but although several good chances presented themselves, they failed to take advantage of them, and at half-time the score was:- Partick Thistle, 1 goal, Glasgow Thistle, 0.

Immediately on resuming, the Partick men repeated their performance of the first half and scored in the first minute, Gilchrist sending the ball through. Play then became very fast and both goalkeepers were repeatedly called upon. A splendid run by Johnstone and Russell gave Mackie a chance which he did not utilise. Immediately afterwards, the ground team worked the ball to the other end, and Currie notched a third point for the Partick club. Once more, the home team got in and Gilchrist scored with a fine shot. The result was:- Partick Thistle, 4 goals, Glasgow Thistle, 0 goals.
