At Inchview Park, Whiteinch, before a large attendance. The Kilmarnock kicked off. The Thistle at once put on the pressure and Cochrane had to fist out shots from Stewart and Paul. Ten minutes from the start Gilchrist scored the first goal for the Thistle. The Kilmarnock had a look in after this, but Brown was not to be beat. Even play was now the order of the day, each goal being assailed in turn. It was not till near the close of this period that Gilchrist again found an opening, and put on the second goal for the Thistle. Half time result:- Partick Thistle, 2 goals; Kilmarnock, 0 goals. The second half was evenly contested, although the Thistle had slightly the best of it. No further scoring was done, however. Final result:- Partick Thistle, 2 goals; Kilmarnock, 0 goals.
