Wanderers had all the early pressure and were 2-up at half-time. Aided by questionable tactics (ignored by the ref), Edgar missed an open goal but he scored along with Miller for 2-2 (80 and 85). A winner was found (og) even later but the SR scribe was adamant the ball went over the bar. Wanderers were robbed of a replay.

Played on the ground of the Wanderers, Eglington Park, before a small turnout of spectators. The Thistle kicked off against a stiff breeze. The Wanderers came away together and forced the Thistle to concede a corner which, however, came to nothing. Keeping up the pressure, the home team, by a clever piece of play, scored the first point about 15 minutes from the start, and a few minutes afterwards put on a second. The visitors at this reverse began to play up, and Edgar had the goal at his mercy but shot wide. At half-time the Wanderers were leading by 2 to 0. On resuming, the Wanderers commenced to press, Mortimer having a splendid run on the left, but his parting shot was wide of the mark. The Thistle, by persistent efforts, managed to equalise through Miller and Edgar. Play was now confined to the Wanderers ground, and shortly afterwards the Thistle put on the winning point. Result:- Partick Thistle, 3 goals; Wanderers, 2 goals.
