This match was played at Whiteinch in splendid weather, and before a good attendance. The Saints started, and Baird early tried the home custodian. After six minutes play Munn opened the scoring for the Saints. Scott followed with number two. The Thistle improved considerably, and Murray shot passed Baillie. Some time later Gilchrist scored a second goal for the homesters. the Saints were showing to most advantage, and eventually Scott again scored. Paul before half-time equalised. Play during this period was fast and Dobie put in some brilliant runs. The half-time score was three goals each. In the second half the Saints managed to put on another goal, and won by four goals to three.
