2,500 saw Alliance league champions Linthouse race to a 2-goal lead and make it 3-0 before White pulled one back for Thistle with a fine shot. They “strove hard to improve their position” (GH) in the second half but Linthouse defended stoutly and scored a 4th towards the end.

Played at Inchview Park, Whiteinch, last night, before 2,500 spectators. Both teams were fully represented. The Thistle kicked off. Smith scored the first goal for the Linthouse shortly after the start. McNair added a second soon after. Even play followed, but Linthouse scored again, Lang doing the needful. The Thistle then took up the running, and White scored their first goal with a fine long shot. Half-time result - Linthouse, 3 goals; Partick Thistle, 1 goal. After the interval the game was resumed with vigour. The Thistle strove hard to improve their position, but the Linthouse defence was too good for them. Towards the close the Linthouse put on a spurt, and Steele scored their fourth goal. No further scoring took place. Final result - Linthouse, 4 goals; Partick Thistle, 1 goal.
