Thistle per OH. St Mirren's (predicted) line-up comes from the PDE but we've had to remove a couple to accommodate two from the contemporary reports (Milne & Wylie) who weren't in the predicted. Since Milne & Wylie were #9 & #10 in the (again predicted) line-up for the Rangers game a few days later (10 May) we've went for the educated guess that it was "same again" and, on that basis, we've removed #9 (John Douglas) and #10 (James McAulay) to accomodate. Confirmed appearances from press reports included James Cameron, Edward McBain, James Morrison, Milne & Alex Wylie. "Jones" of St Mirren was in inverted commas, suggesting a trialist/guest.

SFL team St Mirren took a 3-goal lead before Thistle finally wakened up and pulled one back before half-time. They were a match for St Mirren in outfield play except that their lightweight forwards were second best. They lost Cameron (kick in the head) and the second half was beyond the ten men but it was a plucky performance.

Played at Inchview Park, Whiteinch. The Saints kicked off. After twenty minutes play Harrison scored their first goal. Milne added a second soon after, and Morrison followed with a third. Thistle then put on a spurt, and cleverly notched a goal. Half-time result:- St Mirren, three goals; Partick Thistle, 1 goal. The second half was well contested throughout, each goal being assailed in turn. Neither team could increase their score, however. Final result:- St Mirren, three goals; Partick Thistle, 1 goal.
