The Linthouse keeper denied Thistle an opener in the first few minutes. Play swung from end to end until Bennett put Thistle ahead before half-time but it only took Linthouse two minutes to equalise. They were by far the better team with the wind at their backs, went ahead (55) and got a third for a solid win.

At Langlands Park. The Thistle were not at full strength, amongst the absentees being W. Proudfoot, who will in the future play for the Clyde. The Thistle started play, and had the advantage of a strong wind. After fifteen minutes play, the Thistle scored through Bennett. Till the interval, the Thistle had the best of matters but no further scoring resulted. Soon after resuming, the Linthouse came away and eventually rushed the ball through. A second point was gained from a corner. The Thistle then had a good look in, but Linthouse, not to be denied, returned and McNair scored with a beauty. Result:- Linthouse, three goals; Partick Thistle, 1 goal.
