This match was played at Whiteinch in miserable weather, sleet and snow falling during the game. Proudfoot (back) was absent from the Thistle team, who had to face the elements in the first half. The Thistle started play, and at once scored through Murray. The Vale equalised ten minutes later, and towards the interval notched a second. Half time result: - Vale, two goals; Thistle, one goal. On resuming, the Thistle forced the pace, but they were beaten back, and the Vale gained a point out of a scrimmage. Gilchrist then notched a point for the Thistle, which was followed by another from Murray. The Vale scored again, and an interesting game resulted: - Vale of Leven, four goals; Partick Thistle, three goals.
