Thistle's goal is credited to J. Woods in the EC, but since the SC/GH/OH all say it was Watty Keay we stick with them. Wanderers equaliser is credited to Lambie in the EC, however the SR credits left-back Alick Gossland with the goal. Contradicting both, the GH reckons it was Archie Gossland, the forward player. The GEP says “Crossland”. We've gone with Archie Gossland per the GH on the flimsy basis that their account keeps our goals set “intact” from the same source.

A good game once the players came to terms with the frozen pitch with 2 inches of snow lying. Keay scored (2) but the visitors equalised before Davie got number 2. Thistle played without the injured Woods in the second half and they were largely on the defensive. Wanderers were unlucky not to draw.

This friendly match was played at Whiteinch. The Wanderers started play, but the Thistle at once took up the running, and Keay scored two minutes after. Glossfield equalised for the Wanderers. The game then opened out, and became very interesting. Despite the insecure footing, splendid runs were in by both teams. Before the interval, Davie put the Thistle in the ascendency. On resuming, both goals were assailed in turn, Lambie and Allan being conspicuous for the Wanderers, while Keay, Gilchrist and Davie combined well for the home team. Although both goalkeepers were repeatedly called upon, neither team could add to their score, and a well contested game ended:- Partick Thistle, 2 goals; Glasgow Wanderers, 1 goal.
