Play was even but “by no means pretty” (CE) then Airdrie took the lead (15) with a fast trundler. Thistle (missing some regulars) had most of the play after that but their finishing was erratic. Davie scored with a fast shot (60) then McCorkindale fisted out a 30-yarder straight to the scorer (65) but Davie equalised (85).

This match was played at Whiteinch. The Airdrieonians started the play, which was very even for the first fifteen minutes, when Binnie scored for Airdrie. The Thistle then took up the running, and till the interval did most of the pressing, but failed to score. On resuming, Davie equalised for the Thistle. Scott then put the Airdrieonians two up. The Thistle now warmed up to their work, and Davie again equalised. Result:- Partick Thistle, two goals; Airdrieonians, two goals.
