After several close shaves around the Thistle goal St Bernard's scored freely. It was 4-0 at half-time. The second half was no different and Thistle were completely outplayed by the Edinburgh side who were superior in every department. “Partick Thistle ought to award them a vote of thanks for being so lenient” (SR).

This match was played at Whiteinch. Early in the game the Saints pressed. Scott, McDonald and Sutherland showing the play. The Thistle goal had several narrow escapes. Latterly, Clark forced the ball through. The home team were very slack in front of goal. Not so the Saints, who were ever dangerous at close quarters. Before the interval, Stewart, Sutherland and Clark had each scored for the Saints, who led by four goals. The Thistle then had an innings, but were unable to elude Baillie. The Thistle latterly had to act principally on the defensive, the visitors outplaying them at every point. McDonald notched a sixth goal, after which play quietened down a bit. The Saints came away again, and Stewart scored. Result:- St Bernards, seven goals; Partick Thistle, nil.
