Shire pressed for long spells, hit woodwork several and earned several corners but their headed goal (80) wasn't enough. Top - for a week!

Alliance match at Falkirk. East Stirlingshire kicked off against a strong breeze, and for the first ten minutes had to act on the defensive. Twenty minutes from the start Davies [sic] scored the first goal for the Thistle followed by another off the left ten minutes later. Half time:- Thistle, two goals; East Stirlingshire, nothing. East Stirlingshire pressed for some time, but corners were the only advantage obtained. The play ruled even for a few minutes, during which excitement increased. Then the game assumed the form of a siege on the Partick goal. Reid at last scored, heading the ball through. Result:- Partick Thistle, two goals; East Stirlingshire, one goal.
